Selfishly I don’t want this brand new little spot to be discovered, it is truly a riverfront gem for outdoorsy people. A lot of thought has been put into the layout and design of the outdoor kitchen/fire pit areas and the teepees themselves (there are 10 of them, most only bookable on the property’s website). My favorite detail on the property are the many ancient tree trunks that have been hauled here from all over the Boise valley, which now serve as decoration and safe nesting for birds and small animals. BYO bedding and air mattresses. And keep in mind, it gets chilly at night, even in mid summer. Mosquito repellant and a fore lighter will also come in handy (the lighter at our site did not work). Bring cash for firewood. And remember to go find the beautiful little beach- a rarity on this river!- and the deep swimming hole downstream… all a part is f this truly memorable property.

#5 Teepees by the River – Star Gazer
Our stay was amazing! The Teepee was beautiful. The inside decor fits the theme. Very spacious too. We had three adults and 2 dogs. More than enough room. Jeff and Jim thought of everything. We stayed at Running Horse number 1. We had a huge fire pit sitting area. There was also a propane stove and a small grill. Checkers, hammock, and the pulley to pull up a cooler from the ground to deter animals. We didn’t use it. We placed our cooler in the teepee at night. Also, there was an outdoor shower. I’m not a fan of porta-potties. That was the only thing I couldn’t use.
The river was a short walk. We were in the river all day. There is a hiking path that we liked a lot.
Bring bug spray for the mosquitoes.
Beautiful place! Very peaceful.
Thank you for an awesome time and for sharing Teepees by the River!

Awesome space we loved it. We were not prepared for the mosquitoes near the parking area, but at camp were not too bad once we got a fire and bug spray from town. Would stay here again.

Cool place! These guys have so much potential and for being brand new seem to be working hard and very accommodating. Only tiny tiny tiff- better/easier river access! We will be coming back!

I just spent 4 days there, and it was absolutely wonderful. Jeff, Nikki, and company put a tremendous amount of thought and effort into the layout and the experience. It was the perfect place to get re-centered.

This was a very relaxing place, well worth the price. It is clean and really well organized. The amenities were lovely. It’s a bit hot during the days in the summer weather – plan on using the river to cool off. Don’t forget your bug spray. Also, be aware that you will be better off buying wood from the site.

My wife and I had an amazing time at Teepees By The River last weekend!! We spent the night with some friends in our own private teepees next to the river, swapped stories over a campfire, and had UNPARALLELED views of the stars. It was truly magical. Great amenities, definitely glamping or at minimum upscale camping. You seriously have to check these guys out!

Had a great getaway for the weekend! Even with other campers around us we still felt isolated with the trees etc. First thing I noticed was much work they put into the entire campsite and they did a great job. Was very easy to get to and it’s right on the river with lots to do and explore. Would definitely recommend checking it out!

My family rented two tents for one night this past weekend and had a lovely time. And it is truly right by the river! Nikki the host was friendly and very accommodating, making sure to top off the tiki torches to ward off the mosquitos. Unfortunately our timing was not great as it rained most of the time and teepees do let a small amount of rain in due to the opening at the top haha! We just had to adjust to the elements! Having so many things readily available, like hot dog skewers, wash bin, seating, and a grill were just great and less we had to pack in and out! Having a picnic table at each site and a porta potty close by was fantastic! We took 3 of our four legged family members and they too had a great time being with us instead of boarded or at home. I would definitely recommend to others wanting to experience something a little different from the normal tent or camper.

We thoroughly enjoyed our experience of spending the night in a teepee. The interior of the teepee was very clean and a true glamping experience with hide rugs and stick furniture. We brought air mattresses and if that helps to keep the cost as reasonable as it is now, I would be happy to not have the queen bed. We easily fit one double and two twins with room for backpacks. There were solar string lights outside the teepee, some tiki torches, and a few battery-powered lanterns. The cooking area was well-appointed including a few pots and pans, a small hibachi grill, and a very nice gas cooktop. We were also happy to find some telescoping wiener roasting sticks-you won’t need to bring that! The toilets were clean as well. We had some trouble with our hand water pump so I should have asked more questions about that at check-in. We were just there one night so did not utilize the shower. The mosquitos can’t be avoided by the water and were heavy until sundown so you will want to bring good spray. We were happy to be able to purchase that reasonably at the front gate. The quality of everything we used was great. Right now, the camp is new so my concern is whether or not it will all stay so tidy and well taken care of. I do hope everyone who visits will be respectful of the property and leave camp even better than they find it.

Are you kidding me? This place is magical. The owners are the most down to earth, hospitable humans you’ll ever have host a family getaway, period. Me and my wife got married on Oct 8th 2022 and the owners worked tirelessly to get the property ready for us. From what I understand a lot of beautiful plans are in the works and we can’t wait to go plant our marriage oak trees on the property this spring. 10 out of 10 would recommend for your next event, wedding, family reunion etc.
